Competition Task
You can work by yourself or in a group (maximum four students per group).
You are to produce a video advertisement (no more than 2 minutes in length) which delivers at least one key message about workplace rights and promotes the 'Young people at work' website.
The audience for your video will be young people aged between 14-20 years.
Please be as creative as possible. You can use humour, animation and maybe some acting skills. You might even want to compose your own music or song as a backdrop to the video*.
The video advertisement MUST:
-
mention the 'Know the Deal' branding/logo in some way (this brand appears on the home page of the 'Young people at work' website).
-
promote the web address - www.youngpeopleatwork.nsw.gov.au
-
use the information contained in the Looking for work, Got the job or Leaving the job channels on the website to highlight at least one key workplace message that young people need to know when starting work.
As part of your entry, you should provide a short summary (no more than 200 words) telling the judges why you picked your chosen message and how you went about developing your video idea.
Judging criteria
The judges will take into account:
-
How creatively and originally the video promotes the 'Young people at work' website.
-
How clearly the video conveys the workplace message(s) contained in your chosen topic section (Looking for work, Got the job or Leaving the job) on the website.
-
How well the video communicates to a youth audience.
